I absolutely loved the cozy decoration at Rose Cottages. The interior had a warm and inviting ambiance, with soft colors and comfortable furniture. It was a delight to relax in the general areas, especially the charming living room with its crackling fireplace. The hotel was also incredibly senior-friendly, with easy access to all the facilities and no troublesome stairs or obstacles to navigate.
If I could suggest one improvement for a better vacation experience for senior people, it would be to have a dedicated staff member available at all times to assist with any specific needs or concerns. While the children working there were pleasant and helpful, having someone specifically trained to cater to the requirements of elderly guests would enhance the overall experience.

We got great value for our money at the cozy cottage in Alnwick. The room was much more spacious than expected and beautifully furnished. The location was quiet and picturesque, with plenty of opportunities for long walks and a short walk to the beach. The staff treated us well and we felt right at home.
The breakfast option could use a little improvement, perhaps by adding more variety or some special touches.

Great location for a beach or walking holiday, good basic accommodations with a kitchen and sitting area, cozy split-level living space, wood-burning stove for chilly evenings.
Bench placement in front of boiler flue, hot water issues, bathroom needs a glass screen for shower, occasional smell from drains.

I absolutely adored the charming decor of the hotel, it had such a cozy and homely feel. The common areas were beautifully decorated, with comfortable seating and lovely artwork on the walls. The hotel was also very accessible for senior people like myself, with easy access to the garden and well-lit corridors for navigation.
I would have appreciated if there had been more assistance from the staff in terms of activities suitable for senior guests.

My partner and I were pleasantly surprised by the size of the cottage at Rose Cottages. It was much more spacious than we expected from the photos. The mezzanine sleeping area was surprisingly roomy and comfortable. The location of the cottage in an authentic village was perfect for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. We enjoyed long walks directly from the cottage and the beach was just a few minutes' walk away. The cottage was well equipped, clean, and had underfloor heating that made it cozy. The off-street parking, though limited, was convenient and secure. Despite a few minor issues such as a power failure and heating timing, our overall experience at Rose Cottages was hard to fault. We definitely plan to return in the future.
The only gripe we had was the lack of convenient clothes hanging space on the mezzanine. Additionally, navigating the descent to the bathroom in the middle of the night was a bit precarious.

We stayed at a fantastic cosy little cottage in a lovely village for a few days. The cottage had everything we needed, and we especially enjoyed coming back to it and lighting the fire. The mezzanine sleeping area was surprisingly spacious, and the underfloor heating made it really cosy. The location was perfect, with easy parking and plenty of opportunities for walks and trips to the beach. The local pub served delicious food, and we can't wait to come back!
100% Recommend this hotel.

The garden at this lovely holiday home was like a secret oasis, just waiting to be explored. It was such a delight to wander through the vibrant flowers and listen to the birds chirping, it felt like stepping into a fairytale.
Misleading pricing.

Surprisingly spacious apartment/cottage with a comfortable mezzanine area. Quiet location in an authentic and unspoilt village. - Well-equipped, well-furnished, and spotlessly clean. - Cozy with underfloor heating and a log fire. - Good food available at the pub/hotel across the road. - Plenty of opportunities for long walks direct from the cottage. - Off-street parking that is convenient and secure.
Felt at home instantly, no reason to complain.

The location of the cottage was perfect, situated in a charming village and with convenient parking. Despite the small kitchen under the stairs, the cottage was cozy and enjoyable. The mezzanine bedroom was surprisingly spacious and the underfloor heating made it even more comfortable. The nearby pub, although understaffed, served decent meals. With plenty of opportunities for long walks and a beach just a few minutes away, it was an ideal place for a relaxing getaway.
It would have been better if there had been a stair gate to ensure the safety of young children. Additionally, the welcome basket was lacking compared to other cottages we have stayed in before.

We stayed at Rose Cottages for a few nights and had a fantastic time. The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed, including a small kitchen and sitting area. Surprisingly spacious, the mezzanine sleeping area was not cramped at all. The location in the authentic village was quiet and peaceful, with plenty of opportunities for long walks and just a few minutes' walk to the beach. The underfloor heating made it extra cosy, and the wood burning stove added charm. We also enjoyed the convenience of off-street parking and the shared garden with the hotel. We will definitely be back!
Would recommend this hotel.

We had a pleasant surprise when we arrived at our spacious and cozy cottage at Rose Cottages. The mezzanine was much bigger than expected, and the underfloor heating made it super cozy. The location in the authentic village was peaceful and untouched, with plenty of opportunities for long walks and a beautiful beach just a few minutes away. The cottage was well-equipped, spotlessly clean, and the shared garden was a nice bonus. The staff at the nearby pub/hotel were friendly and served delicious food.
The breakfast offerings could be improved with a glass screen for the shower over the bath instead of a plastic shower curtain.

Engaging Activities: During our stay, we were thrilled to be in an area where we could explore thrilling activities like windsurfing, diving, and fishing. It felt like an adventure playground right on our doorstep!
Lack of Hanging Space: The only minor issue we encountered during our stay was the lack of convenient clothes hanging space on the mezzanine. However, it was a small inconvenience compared to all the other fantastic features that Rose Cottages had to offer.
